With the next major update, Lineage II: Salvation - Etina’s Fate, arriving on August 22, we wanted to offer you a quick sneak peek at some of the changes happening when the update goes live. In addition to a host of new content and improvements coming to Hunting Grounds—including updated level ranges, new instances, as well as new and upgraded Raid Bosses—there are a number of updates and quality-of-life changes being made to the current game systems. Here’s an overview of a few noteworthy items that will be happening to whet your appetite until you can feast on the official patch notes.
The first major change to highlight is that EXP rates for progressing beyond Lv. 99 are being reduced. There will continue to be an escalating challenge to progress into higher levels, but the curve is being lowered slightly as we begin to set the stage for content in future updates tailored for Lv. 110+ characters. The impact of the change in this update is fairly minor given that the game doesn’t currently have content specifically intended for Lv. 107+. Even so, this is a good opportunity for those of you looking to keep your character atop the ladder, as well for everyone else seeking to gain some ground.
Next, the level range for obtaining Dual class certificates is being extended up to Lv. 105. To accompany this there are new Dual class skills, and several names and effects of existing skills are changing. The level for obtaining a Subclass certificate will be set to Lv. 80, at which point characters will receive three certificates total—one for each Subclass. Your existing certificates will be deleted with the update so that you can retrain with Certificate Manager Trandon on Talking Island.
In addition to EXP and skill changes, there a number of other minor systems updates happening with this update to support your journey into higher levels. New Clan Quests will be offered to provide you a source of extra Clan Reputation Points. There’s a fresh supply of baits available from Fishing Guild Members that will ultimately help you brew some new Fishing Stews. Several weapon categories names are being revised to provide a bit more clarity. And finally, on the User Interface front, one notable change is that your mouse cursor will be updated to reflect the hostility of your target.
Stay tuned for more detailed information on these changes and other key features when the official patch notes for Lineage II: Salvation - Etina’s Fate are released next week prior to the launch of the update on August 22.
