New Player Guide

The composition of quests and NPCs may vary up to Lv. 20 (1st Class Transfer) depending on the selected race and class. (For players who selected a class other than Death Knight, mostly refer to Tips until you reach Lv. 20.)

However, every race/class will have the same quests starting from the Lv. 20 quest "Dawn of Adventure." Please keep this in mind for smooth in-game progression.

Newbie Growth Kit

A FREE Newbie Growth Kit is available for a limited time (8/11/2021 ~ 9/15/2021) in the L2Store (restricted to one per account). The Newbie Growth Kit offers a permanent Valakas' Necklace, promotional equipment, convenience items, consumables, and other boosts.

As players progress through each level they will be able to obtain new rewards from the kit.

Quest Progression

After you create a character and enter Aden, you will arrive at the "Death Knight Base." Click on the NPC named "Training Captain Kilemanja" to proceed with your first quest.

 

TIP: What if you can't click on an NPC because there are too many users or someone is in the way?

Type "/Target (NPC's name)" in the chat to select the NPC you want to talk to. After that, press the "Attack" key to talk to the NPC.

 

Lv. 1 - 2 | Death Knight's Life Quest

Accept the quest and attack the "Training Dummy" placed beside "Training Captain Kilemanja." You will complete the quest conditions when you defeat the "Training Dummy." Talk to "Training Captain Kilemanja" again to proceed.

"Training Captain Kilemanja" provides you with x200 Soulshots. The Soulshots obtained from the quest will be equipped automatically, and increases Atk. by 100%. Attack the "Training Dummy" again to proceed.

Quest Rewards Received:

  • Adventurer's Scroll of Escape x5
  • Adventurer's Wind Walk Potion x5
  • HP Potion x50
  • Soulshot x50

TIP: Use Soulshots more easily 

A Soulshot can be used easily by dragging and dropping it onto the "Soulshot" area in a skill quick slot. If the Soulshot is set but not being used, then "right-click" on the set Soulshot to check if Auto-Use is activated. When you're out of Soulshots, you can purchase more from a "Grocer NPC" in town for Adena, purchase "Soulshot Tickets" from the L2Store for NCoin or from the L2 Coin Shop for L2 Coins.

 

Lv. 2 - 15 | Learn New Rules Quest

Once you clear the "Death Knight's Life" quest, receive the following quest from "Training Captain Kilemanja." You can complete this quest smoothly by opening your "inventory (Alt+V, Tab)" and placing an "HP Potion" in the "Potion" area of your skill quick slot, which will recover your health automatically. Also, using an "Adventurer's Wind Walk Potion" in tandem will increase your Movement Speed by a little. Press the Auto-Hunt button to strike nearby monsters automatically. 

After you teleport to the "1st Training Ground" through "Training Captain Kilemanja" and defeat 20 monsters, you will find an Escape scroll in your inventory (Alt+V, Tab). Use the Escape scroll by clicking on it in your inventory, and then you can receive the quest rewards from "Quartermaster Matterhoren."

  • Adventurer's Scroll of Escape x10
  • Necklace (Novice)
  • Earring x2 (Novice)
  • Ring x2 (Novice)

 

Lv 2 - 15 │ To Overcome the Fate Quest

You will teleport to the "2nd Training Ground" through "Quartermaster Matterhoren." Before you head to the hunting zone, you can check the skills you can learn by pressing the "Skill" (Alt+K) icon in the Functions window at the bottom of the screen. Learn various buffs that will come in handy during combat. (Some skills require a "Spellbook" or a "Totem" to learn. Ex: Expand Inventory) Once you have learned a skill, go to the "2nd Training Ground," use the buff skills on yourself, and defeat 30 monsters.

Move a buff skill in the "Active" category of the skill window (Alt+K) to the skill hotbark and "right-click" on it to use automatically for more convenient gameplay. Don't forget to learn various buff and attack skills whenever you transfer classes or level up. Use the Escape Scroll in your inventory (Alt+V, Tab) to go to "Quartermaster Matterhoren" and receive XP and various accessories as quest rewards once you complete the quest.

TIP: Growth Mission Reward
Once you reach Level 20, Click the "Mission" button in the Functions window at the bottom of the screen to obtain a "Growth" mission reward for reaching Lv. 20. Level achievement rewards will be provided for reaching each level group. Make sure to collect them when prompted as they provide you with various items and boosts for progressing further!

 

Class Transfer

1st Class Transfer

You can get your 1st Class Transfer once you reach Lv. 20. Class Transfer is only available in the "Peace Zone (village)." Click on the "Class Transfer" icon in the Functions window at the bottom of the screen to proceed with your 1st Class Transfer. Afterwards, you can obtain a Beginner's basic weapon and Moonshadow armor set. You will also be also provided with items required for learning basic skills, so make sure to check your inventory (Alt+V, Tab). You can check the skills you can learn after the 1st Class Transfer by pressing on the Skill window (Alt+K).

1st Class Transfer Rewards:

  • Aden Weapon (type varies based on class)
  • Moonshadow Armor Set (type varies based on class)
  • 1st Class Transfer Gift Box
    • Spirit Ore x250

Lv 20 - 25│ Beginning of Adventure Quest

Accept the "Beginning of Adventure" quest from "Quartermaster Matterhoren" after the 1st Class Transfer. Then, find the "Gatekeeper,"

who can be found right next to the NPC "Quartermaster Matterhoren."

If you're unable to find the "Gatekeeper," you can click on "Teleport" in the Functions window at the bottom of the screen, and then select your starting village out of the ones for each race. You can meet the "Gatekeeper" after you teleport.

 

When you talk to the "Gatekeeper," they will instruct you on the hunting zone you should go to next. Click on the "Teleport" button and head to the "Ruins of Agony" hunting zone that the "Gatekeeper" told you about. Once you arrive at the Ruins of Agony, you will see the structure in the image below. Enter it to hunt monsters and complete the quest.

You can go to "Captain Bathis" by using a Scroll of Escape in your inventory (Alt+V, Tab) after you complete the quest conditions. Talk to Bathis to receive your quest rewards.

Right-click on a "Enchant Scroll: Weapon of Aden" to enchant "Sword of Aden." "Aden Weapons" can be enchanted up to +16. Safe enchant at +4. The current enchant level remains if it fails.

Lv. 25 - 30 | Enchant Talisman Quest

After completing the "Beginning of Adventure" quest, you received an Adventurer's Talisman and Adventurer's Talisman Enchant Scroll.

Talisman Enchantment

Check your inventory (Alt+V, Tab) and you will find an "Adventurer's Talisman Enchant Scroll." Click on it and enchant "Adventurer’s Talisman" Once you have successfully done this, you can complete the quest through "Captain Bathis."

Once you equip the "Adventurer's Bracelet," you will be able to equip and use "Adventurer's Talisman."

 

Lv. 25 - 30 | Cultured Adventurer Quest

Accept "Cultured Adventurer" from "Captain Bathis" in the Town of Gludio, then go to the "Abandoned Camp" in Gludin Village. Once you clear the quest conditions, go back to "Captain Bathis" in "Gludio" and to receive your quest rewards.

Quest Rewards Received:

  • Adventurer's Brooch
  • Adventurer's Gem Fragment Lv. 1
  • Enchant Scroll: Weapon of Aden x2

 

Lv. 30 - 35 | Combine Gems Quest

Gem Enhancement

You will additionally obtain another "Adventurer's Gem Fragment Lv. 1" when you accept the quest from "Captain Bathis." Open your inventory (Alt+V, Tab) and click on the "Compound" icon to compound the two gems together.

After you have compounded both Lv. 1 Gems into a Lv. 2 Gem, talk to "Captain Bathis" to complete the quest.

Once you equip the "Adventurer's Brooch," you will be able to equip and use "Adventurer's Gem Fragment Lv. 2."

 

Lv. 30 - 35 | Secret Garden Quest

Receive this quest from "Captain Bathis" and go to "High Priest Raymond." You can find "High Priest Raymond" easily by following the arrow marker on your character. After talking to the NPC, you must go to the "Gorgon Flower Garden." Use the Teleport function or Scroll of Escape: Gorgon Flower Garden to go to the hunting zone and complete the quest conditions.

Lv. 35 - 40 | Enchanting Agathions Quest

Agathion Enchantment

You can receive this quest from "High Priest Raymond." Once you accept the quest, you can obtain an "Adventurer's Griffin Agathion Enchant Scroll." You can complete the quest after enchanting "Adventurer's Griffin Agathion" using the enchant scroll.

Once you equip the "Adventurer's Agathion Bracelet," you will be able to equip and use "Adventurer's Griffin Agathion."

 

Lv. 35 - 40 | Death in the Pass Quest

You can receive this quest from "High Priest Raymond." Once you receive the quest, teleport to "Giran." You can find "High Priest Maximilian" easily by following the arrow marker on your character. Talk to "High Priest Maximilian," then go to the "Death Pass" hunting zone in the Town of Giran to complete the quest conditions. 

Quest Rewards Received:

  • Magic Lamp Acceleration Potion
  • Sayha's Gust x9
  • Enchant Scroll: Weapon of Aden x2

 

2nd Class Transfer

You can get your 2nd Class Transfer once you reach Lv. 40 or above. Click on the "Class Transfer" icon in the Functions window at the bottom of the screen to proceed with your 2nd Class Transfer. Afterwards, the number of skills you can learn increases. Also, you will be provided with 1 item for learning skills, and 10 Scrolls with 100,000 SP. You can check the skills you can learn after Class Transfer by pressing on the Skill window (Alt+K).

Lv. 40 - 45 (Lv. 39 or Above) | About the Magic Lamp Quest

About the Magic Lamp

Receive this quest from "High Priest Maximilian." This quest teaches you about recharging the Magic Lamp Gauge proportionately to the XP obtained through hunting. Once you have learned about the Magic Lamp system, you can talk to "High Priest Maximilian" to complete the quest.

Lv. 40 - 44 | Engulfed in Spores Quest

Receive this quest from "High Priest Maximilian," then go to Orven. You will be automatically sent to Orven after the conversation. "High Priest Orven" will guide you to the "Sea of Spores" hunting zone in the Town of Oren. Teleport there, and enter the structure in the image below to complete the quest conditions.

Once you kill 200 Sea of Spores monsters and reach Lv. 44, teleport back to the Town of Aden to return to "High Priest Orven" and receive the quest rewards.

Lv. 40 or Above | Obtained Refined Equipment Quest

You can obtain an "Adventurer's Sheep Hat" and "Adventurer's Enchant Scroll - Hair Accessory" by talking to "High Priest Orven." Talk to "High Priest Orven" after enchanting the "Adventurer's Sheep Hat."

After you enchant the Sheep Hat, "High Priest Orven" provides you with an "Adventurer's Belt" and "Scroll: Enchant Adventurer's Belt." Talk to "High Priest Orven" after you enchant the "Adventurer's Belt."

After you enchant the Adventurer's Belt, "High Priest Orven" provides you with an "Adventurer's Cloak" and "Scroll: Enchant Adventurer's Cloak." Enchant the "Adventurer's Cloak" and talk to "High Priest Orven" to complete the quest.

You will have all the necessary basic equipment when you clear everything up to the cloak enchanting quest.

Lv. 45 - 55 | Cemetery Worship Quest

Receive this quest from "High Priest Orven." Get guided over to the "Cemetery" hunting zone in the Town of Aden, then teleport there to complete the quest conditions. When you clear the quest by defeating 300 Cemetery monsters and reaching Lv. 52, you can receive various rewards, including an "Asofe" material used for adding crafting points.

How to use the Asofe quest reward?

Using the Asofe item to recharge Crafting Points for the Random Crafting System. Click on the [+] button in the Crafting Point Gauge window to register an item to be recharged. You can even obtain various rare items through random crafting.

 

Concluding the New Player Guide

By the time you clear the "Cemetery Worship" quest, you will notice that your character is more advanced than they were at the start. Now you can enjoy Lineage II as you wish, whether it be hunting at the perfect hunting zone for your character, having fun in combat, or whatever else suits your fancy. You can check the recommended hunting zone for each level anytime by double-clicking the "Mark of Journey" item provided as a "mission" reward.

Also, the difference in level between your character and monsters will be reflected in the monster's name color as indicated below, so be sure to look at it when you're hunting.
